COMMON SYMPTOMS OF SYPHILIS.

A well-known sexually transmitted infection (STI), syphilis is most frequently spread through unprotected intercourse with an infected partner.

It should not be taken for granted because, if untreated, syphilis can cause major medical problems like heart failure and convulsions as well as other potentially fatal disorders. To avoid becoming infected, condom use is advised.

Initial signs of syphilis are frequently subtle, difficult to detect, or can be mistaken for symptoms of another illness.

They may also come and go and have a tendency to vary over time. If you experience any of the following syphilis symptoms, it is recommended to get medical attention right away.

1. White spots in the mouth
   It may indicate syphilis infection if you start to get white patches in your mouth. Primary syphilis primarily affects the genitalia, however research has discovered that mouth symptoms, which reflect sexual habits, are seen in about 4-12% of patients.

   Small lesions known as chancres are frequently the initial symptom of syphilis. The first sore manifests itself where they first entered your body. Most syphilis patients only experience one chancre; however, some patients experience many chancres.

The chancre often appears three weeks following bacterial contact. Since syphilis is typically painless and can be concealed in the rectum or vagina, many people who have it are unaware of their condition. Within three to six weeks following the infection, the chancre will heal naturally.

4. Rashness

You might experience rashes within a few weeks of the initial chancre healing. They usually start as a single rash in your trunk and eventually spread throughout your body.

5. Flu-like signs

During the second stage of syphilis, people may also have minor flu-like symptoms and general malaise. A mild fever, feeling worn out or fatigued, a sore throat, swollen glands, a headache, and muscle aches are some of these symptoms. These symptoms may appear and disappear for months or even years if untreated.

Another sign of a chlamydial or gonorrheal infection in its late stages is fatigue. Hepatitis A, B, and C are additional risk factors. After 2 to 6 weeks of exposure, flu-like symptoms, which are also the first indications of an HIV infection, may manifest.
