I DESERVE A BETTER SLOT, UDA LEADER DISMISSES THIS JOB OFFER
President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance house is on crossroads after Nyeri County Woman Representative Rahab Mukami rejected the offer she had been given to chair the Committee of Welfare and Facilities in the national assembly.
Mukami argued that on behalf of the Nyeri residents, she deserves a powerful committee, remarks that comes few days before the Kenya Kwanza Alliance camp conducts a parliamentary meeting to agree on the names proposed to different committees before they are approved by the house.
“I do not take kindly that I have been assigned the chair of the Welfare Committee since Nyeri County deserves better because we delivered during the August 9th elections and I remember I fought so hard for the president.”
“Earlier the president had promised me to give me a slot in the Parliamentary Service Commission because I was alone as the others had expressed interests for the county governor’s seats.”
Her remarks came after the house approved names of nine MPs who will be seating at the House Business Committee, HBC, a committee which is tasked with the operations of the house.
