WETANGULA GOES AGAINST RUTO, AS HE ENDORSES HIS OWN CANDIDATE

Last weekend, the speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula secretly held a meeting in his Kanduyi home where he is said to have endorsed his long term personal assistant Wafula Wakoli for Bungoma Senate race.

Those close to Wetangula revealex that the speaker secretly endorsed Mr Wakoli to avoid running into trouble with UDA men in the county who were piling pressure on Ford Kenya to bow out of the race.

UDA loyals in the county led by former Bumula Member of Parliament Mwambu Mabonga had last week urged Wetangula’s party to drop out of the race in favour of UDA. Mr Mwambu personally and publicly asked Wetangula to support him.

With the endorsement, the race is now clearly between Mwambu and Mr Wakoli. Though UDA has three out of nine Parliamentary seats in Bungoma, it will be difficult for it’s candidate to beat Wetangula’s man ( Wafula Wakoli).

Many believe Wetangula is the political leader in Bungoma and whoever he chooses will win.
