DP RUTO HUMILIATED AND REJECTED BY KALENJIN ELDERS
Community spokesman Mzee Patrice Aligula told a huge Azimio rally at Eldoret’s Huruma Grounds: “We do not know where this young man (DP Ruto) came from; he is not one of us. His history of violence and looting goes back to his teenage years
Last weekend Azimio‘s Raila Odinga took his Presidential battle right at the doorstep of his main opponent in the August 9th election, William Ruto.
Mr Odinga was received by a thunderous welcome by the Nandi and Kalenjin community elders who disowned their ‘son’ William Ruto, terming him as violent, an imposter, looter and a squatter who does not belong to the community.
The elders accused the Deputy President of ruining the economic fortune of residents from the region, they accused him of having looted the little they owned to enrich himself and ruining the future of highly educated professionals from the region in the process, some of whom had graduated from Harvard University in the United States decades ago but their lives were ruined the DP.
The Azimio leader was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua to William Ruto’s home tuff of Uasin Gishu County, the rally was also grace by retired Inspector General of Police Kimaiyo and former World Marathon Champion Eliud Kipchoge.
They charged that DP Ruto is a squatter, having grabbed huge tracts of land in his village home of Sugoi and all over the country, including at the Coast.
The community spokesman Mzee Patrice Aligula told a huge Azimio rally at Eldoret’s Huruma Grounds: “We do not know where this young man (DP Ruto) came from; he is not one of us.
His history of violence and looting goes back to his teenage years. When he was still young, he beat up his foster father, to crown it all, he beat up the man he had ousted as MP, former assistant minister Reuben Chesire, and he did not stop there.”
Mzee Aligula went on: “In Primary and Secondary Schools alikuwa mwizi sugu wa kalamu na rubbers from his fellow students. It did not stop there; when he hit a jackpot as treasurer of the Youth for KANU in 1992 he became even worse. (YK ’92 supported late President Daniel Arap Moi.”
The Azimio leader was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua to William Ruto’s home tuff of Uasin Gishu County, the rally was also grace by retired Inspector General of Police Kimaiyo and former World Marathon Champion Eliud Kipchoge.
The rallies by Azimio started from Ruto’s home town of Turbo where Mr Odinga told the excited crowd: “We are contesting against rivals who have been convicted by the courts of law. They are not fit to lead, they can’t deliver to Kenyans what they need, but are good at spewing dangerous propaganda to try and polarize the country for political and financial gain.”
He continued: “Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua have already been separately convicted for involvement in economic crimes. Indeed they are our own we cannot deny them, but they should carry their crosses and stop cheating Kenyans with false promises they cannot deliver apart from fulfilling their insatiable personal interests.”
The former PM accused his opponent, DP Ruto of playing dirty and dangerous politics by polarising the country to get sympathy votes by crying wolf that he has been wronged when in reality he is the one who has gone rogue, committing crimes that earned him convictions in court.
The 85 year old man called Aligula in reference to Ruto said: “Huyu kijana (Ruto) tangu 1992 aliunda pesa bandia. Kabla ya hapo akiwa Primary na Secondary Schools alikuwa mwizi sugu wa kalamu na raba kutoka kwa wanafunzi wenzake. Raila Liokoa serikali ya Mzee Daniel Arap Moi wakati World Bank na IMF ilikuwa imemkataa kwa sababu ya pesa ya huyu Kijana aliiba.”
