IEBC ISSUES ANOTHER HARSH DEMAND TO SAKAJA

Senator of Nairobi County found himself on the contravening side of the election laws after a serious allegation of non-compliance and forgery of a degree certificate was labelled against him.

Sakaja is facing four petitions seeking to bar him from vying for the city gubernatorial seat in the coming August general election citing that his degree certificate which he presented before the independent and boundaries commission is fake.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission dispute resolution tribunal has issued an ultimatum to the Senator to respond and file evidence before the closure of business today.

This is after a failed attempt to delay the documents filed by the legal Counsel representing Sakaja requesting for more time to respond to the claim.

” I urge the tribunal to add me more time to file a formal application seeking to have one of three members of the IEBC tribunal recuse himself and also to answer the allegations filed against Mr Sakaja,” Kamotho representing the Senator said.

The Nairobi gubernatorial race is becoming a tight battle between the Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio la Umoja as election nears.
