RAILA ODINGA NEW WAVE IN ELDORET TOWN
Hours after Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign billboard was destroyed in Kisumu city, that of his close competitor and ODM boss Raila Odinga has been erected in Eldoret town.
According to photos shared online, Raila’s billboard together with that of his running mate Martha Karua was erected on Sunday near Rupas Mall along Eldoret – Nakuru highway.
This came after Ruto’s similar billboard was brought down on Sunday, hours after it was erected at Kisumu City CBD. From the pictures shared, the billboard was brought down by ‘unknown’ goons sparking sharp reactions from Kenyans, with most of them coming out to condemn the act and calling for political tolerance in all regions.
Deputy President William Ruto was among those who came out to condemn the act. Speaking during his rally in Kirinyaga county, Ruto accused Raila over the incident.
“I hear today we had a billboard like this one for Anne Waiguru in Kisumu but Mr. Kitendawili has vandalized it. You have sworn yourself in, uprooted the railway, thrown stones, and now vandalize a mere billboard, really?…hawa watu ni bure kabisa, I urge Raila to accept that there is competition in Kenya,” said Ruto in Kirinyaga on Sunday.
