KALONZO ISSUES NEW DEMANDS TO RAILA ODINGA

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is now calling for a three-way dialogue bringing together President Uhuru Kenyatta, Azimio presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga and himself, to resolve the pending running mate question.

The Wiper leader has also rejected overtures from the Kenya Kwanza alliance saying he remains committed to defeating its presidential flagbearer, Deputy President William Ruto.

Kalonzo spoke as he commenced his three-day road campaign through Ukambani and down to Mombasa on Thursday.

“Kalonzo amekuwa running mate wa Raila 2013 na 2017, hii ni interview gani naenda kufanyiwa? Hapana. Mimi nitasema kwa heshima sitaenda kwa interview, na sipangwingwi…huwezi kunipanga,” he said.

Kalonzo now wants the running mate resolved through a dialogue between himself, President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

“Hawa panelists wakiendelea na mambo yao, hakuna kitu inazuia mimi, Uhuru Kenyatta na Raila Odinga tuketi chini tuelewane. Badala ya kufanyia Kalonzo interview, wacha tufanyiane interview tuulizane where are we going, we have a nation to save,” he stated.

Kalonzo dismissed friendly approaches made by the DP Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza alliance saying the Azimio’s running mate selection process is none of their business.

“Sijui ati watu wa UDA ndio wanatetea Kalonzo…sitaki wanitetee, nataka kuangusga UDA,” said the former Vice President.

While supporting the Azimio coalition flag bearer’s take on zoning, Kalonzo said the process should wait until end of July, to determine the most preferred candidates.

“Mimi sipingi, lakini wacha tungoje mwezi wa sita na saba kwa vile unaona pia sisi kama Wiper kuko na ushawishi kubwa. We want slots in Parliament and government as a coalition,” he said.
