SAFARICOM EXPLAINS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOUR LINE IS DISCONNECTED WHILE YOU HAVE M-SHWARI LOAN

The Communications Authority (CA) led by Ezra Chiloba has given telecommunication companies until 14th April to reregister their subscribers.

If you do not reregister your line by then, it will be disconnected from any existing network. You will also incur hefty fine if you want to reregister past the said deadline.

One Safaricom subscriber who has an M-Shwari loan wanted to know what will happen if her line is disconnected with unpaid loan. She wanted to know if she will still have to pay the loan or it will be terminated because she no longer has access to that line.

Safaricom has come out to address the issue. If you are having a mobile loan, line being disconnected does not mean you will not have to pay.

If the loan matures and you have not made payments, Safaricom will forward your name to CRB. This will affect your overall credit score and might prevent you from being given a loan by other lending institutions.
