Kenyan comedian, Eric Omondi is to arrested following his recent video on social media. The self proclaimed president of African comedy posted a video burning his identification card.

In the spirit of demanding to talk to Presidential aspirants Willam Samoei Ruto and Raila Odinga, the comedian resorted to burning his identification card.

Eric posted a video on his Instagram platform where he was captured burning his ID. The comedian played Lucky Dube’s song nubbed: Prisoner on the background.

According to the Kenyan law, it is an offense to burn one’s identification card. Therefore the comedian risks imprisonment.

Section 133 of the Penal Code stipulates that destruction of a statutory document 

Any person who, knowingly and without lawful authority or excuse, destroys, mutilates, defaces, alters, abandons or fails to preserve any statutory document is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding five thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or to both,”¬†the act stipulates.
