Nairobi being the capital city of Kenya has high cost of living.

One tweep asked the amount of money someone can comfortably live with in Nairobi.

Here are some of the answers:

Anything above 30k is okay as long as you avoid women and pombe.

Not less than 180k

Kanairo is a big NO for me. Hata niwe namake a 6 figure par month. Huko is a No. Acha nikam tu kibisna na kuishia.

80k and above kama uko na dependants kiasi. Then usiweke macho yote kwa salary. Have a side hustle that brings in something to compliment your salary

Comfortable life in Nairobi needs 200K net. That caters even for extra security, OCS will regularly send his boys to check on you

Below 30k… Itakua tricky kiasi… So I’d say btwn 30 and 40k.. utakua sawa… But it depends on what you mean by comfortably

My last salary in Nairobi (before relocating ) was almost 100K. Single, no kids. I was pretty comfortable.
Now with inflation I’d say 50K for single people and 120K for kids & spouse.
