LEE KINYANJUI BECOMES THE LATEST GOVERNOR TO SUPPORT WILLIAM RUTO

It seems of late everything that William Ruto touches turns to gold. The guy has been winning so much in the past few days you can’t imagine it was the same guy who cried, ‘mimi si wazimu’.

There was a time it seemed like Ruto will be another Tundu Lissu. This was after his political meeting in Nyamira was cancelled. Other meetings like in Taita Taveta also met similar disruptions.

At that time, BBI brigade which later transitioned to Azimio la Umoja were transversing the country unabated.

The government seems to have relaxed and allowed the deputy president to continue his daily rallies and empowering people which is alternatively refered to as handouts.

When he teamed with Musalia Mudavadi, it seemed he would go back to the old times of being denied permit to hold political events. But nothing has changed. Even his Nakuru rally has already been given a greenlight.

Governor Kinyanjui who supports Raila Odinga said he is happy for Ruto to hold campaigns in his home turf.

“We are informed that the Yellow team will hold the “mother of all” rallies in Nakuru tomorrow. In the spirit of political tolerance, we welcome them to Nakuru. As we have said in the past, the people of Nakuru have the capacity and intelligence to make their choices,” he stated.

In a normal country that follows rule of law, the statement by Kinyanjui would be unnecessary. A deputy president does not need permission from a governor to visit his county. But then this is Kenya.
