DETAILS OF HOW MT KENYA ABANDONED RAILA ON HIS BIG DAY
It is not easy for Raila Odinga. Since 1997 he has been begging Mt Kenya to support him. For 25 years, they have refused point blank. Yesterday he thought it was a new beginning. He envisioned everyone turning up in Thika to cheer him.
First the crowd was pitiful. When you minus the crowd that came with him from Nairobi, you just get few individuals who came from Thika. He was unable even to fill half the stadium. Most people had come to sell goods at the rally and when they found no numbers they just slept as they counted losses.
Ahmednasir even went ahead to say that there was no single Mp present in the rally who hails from Kiambu County.

Ahmednasir might have exaggerated a little. There were 4 MPs but that is pitiful considering the president comes from that county and he is a founding member of Azimio la Umoja. In the whole Mt Kenya only two governors graced the event. Actually Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi was attending Ruto’s sons wedding at that particular moment.
Raila must do something drastic to win Mt Kenya votes. Otherwise he will come up empty again.
